Letter: Voters could put an end to NRA rhetoric
Sunday, June 18, 2000 | 9:37 a.m.
Mr. Moses and friends, do us a favor and print a book listing the 20,000 laws so we can call your bluff. I don't believe they exist. Maybe 10 or 20.
If their claims of crime going down are true, how come the first 10 minutes of every newscast contain reports of drive-bys, drug-related gangs -- and I can go on and on. Yes, guns do kill. I cannot conceive of any reason to produce automatic weapons that are just made to kill. Let's get those weapons off the market. They have absolutely no value.
We have to be more selective in choosing our Congress. We have to elect candidates that do not "get in bed" with the likes of the NRA money and all the other powerful groups out there that buy their votes.
Please, America, open your eyes. In numbers we can make a difference come November.
