Police seize methamphetamine
North Las Vegas Police seized about 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine along with about 2 pounds of marijuana and five guns during a search Wednesday.
Police arrested Christopher Pappas, 30, of Henderson, after the drugs and guns were found at a home in the 600 block of Riverband Place in Henderson, said Lt. Gary Rainey of North Las Vegas Police narcotics unit.
Pappas was booked into the North Las Vegas jail on high-level drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance charges. The search in Henderson was part of an investigation of drug trafficking in North Las Vegas by the police and FBI, Rainey said.
Las Vegas man contracts measles
New evidence of a measles outbreak continues to concern Southern Nevada Health officials.
An adult male was diagnosed with the measles on Friday, according to the Clark County Health Department Office of Epidemiology. Seven cases of thedisease have now been confirmed in Southern Nevada since April.
There were no confirmed cases of measles last year.
Local health officials are urging parents to ensure that their children areimmunized.
Suspected cases of measles should be reported to the Clark County Health District Office of Epidemiology at 383-1378.
