A Las Vegas woman has filed a lawsuit against Clark County Detention Center's medical care providers claiming they failed to provide medication to her husband, resulting in his death.
According to the lawsuit, filed Tuesday in District Court, Rodney Dean Casbar died June 14, 1998, two days after being jailed.
Because of previous incarcerations, medical personnel were aware that Casbar suffered from Addison's disease and required medication to control it and yet failed to notice that he was going into adrenal crisis on June 13 as a result of not getting his medication, the lawsuit states.
Rosalie Casbar further alleges that her husband did not receive a visit from medical personnel on June 14, but the records were changed after her husband's body was found in his cell to indicate they had.
Named in the suit are Harvey Hoffman, medical director, EMSA Correctional Care; Fnu Jones, a registered nurse, and Metro Police.
