Shirley Arthur, 76, of Las Vegas died May 23 in Las Vegas. She was born April 18, 1922, in South Dakota. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Raney of Medford, Ore.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Robert August
Robert August, 90, of Las Vegas died May 26 in North Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1910, in Massachusetts. A resident for many years, he was a craftsman/woodworker and an Army veteran.
Graveside services were scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Cliff Wiley Barnett
Cliff Wiley Barnett, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 26, 1948, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a service station attendant.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary Carson of Henderson; his mother, Elizabeth Harris of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Green Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1799 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Ebb Bass
Ebb Bass, 74, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born May 9, 1926, in Gilbert, La. A resident for many years, he was a retired laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Ollie Mae; four daughters, Ethel Bass, Gloria McKinzie and Glenda Holmes, all of Las Vegas, and Carolyn Bass of North Las Vegas; three sons, Perry Bass and Howard Bass, both of Las Vegas, and Ralph Jenkins of Dallas; one sister, Rachel Robinson of Winnsboro, La.; 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ, 911 N. G St. Burial will follow at noon Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Antoni 'Tony' Blaszczyk
Antoni "Tony" Blaszczyk, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 17, 1913, in Czestochowa, Poland. A resident for 10 years, he was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Livia; one son, John Blaszczyk, and one daughter, Patricia Kowalczyk, both of Chicago; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Kermit Booker Jr.
Kermit Booker Jr., 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in a medical center. He was born May 4, 1932, in Sedalia, Mo. A resident for 40 years, he retired from the Clark County School District after 34 years of teaching and was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity of Las Vegas and Officials Association of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; two sons, Gary Booker of Las Vegas and Keith Booker of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Jerald Booker of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10:30 a.m. services Friday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Hyong S. Faudree
Hyong S. Faudree, 60, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born June 5, 1940, in Japan. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one sister, Yong Barnett.

Willie E. Garner
Willie E. Garner, 76, of Las Vegas died June 7 in Las Vegas. He was born April 29, 1924, in Illinois. A resident for many years, he was a pipe fitter in the construction industry.
He is survived by one son, Ron Garner of Chicago.

Helen Gelo
Helen Gelo, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born June 28, 1914, in New York. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Stephen Gelo of Sandy Creek, N.Y.

William Himmelberger
William Himmelberger, 73, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1927, in Trenton, N.J. A resident for 35 years, he was a taxicab driver and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Eliades, and one son, Shaun Eliades, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Erma Thompson of Whiting, N.J.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Lawrence Hobkirk
Lawrence Hobkirk, 76, of Las Vegas died May 25 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 1, 1923, in New York. A resident for many years, he was a computer analyst for an insurance company.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon McCollum of Kansas.

Lloyd M. James
Lloyd M. James, 79, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 29, 1921, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Air Force technical sergeant and World War II and Korean War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; three daughters, Dolly Maurer of Oceanside, Calif., Rhonda Reed of San Francisco and Robin Clark of San Diego; one son, Donald James of Victorville, Calif.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in San Diego. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Erwin W. Kepes
Erwin W. Kepes, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Detroit. A resident for 10 years, he was an engineer for heating and cooling systems, an Air Force veteran, a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge 530 in Detroit and a member of the Shriners.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Richard Brian Kepes of Novi, Mich.; one daughter, Barbara Siefer of West Bloomfield, Mich.; one sister, Lydia Stecker of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
Services are scheduled 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home chapel, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Francis A. Klucinec
Francis A. Klucinec, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 1, 1933, in Pennsylvania. A resident for many years, he was an electrician for a steel company.
He is survived by one sister, Millie Klucinec of Las Vegas.

Ralph Roscoe 'Pops' Knowlton
Ralph Roscoe "Pops" Knowlton, 82, of Lompoc, Calif., died Friday in Caldwell, Idaho. He was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Torrington, Wyo. A former Las Vegas resident for many years, he was a farmer, a miner and a local gaming machine mechanic.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Burroughs of North Las Vegas and Linda Campbell of Lompoc, Calif.; one son, Ralph Eugene Knowlton of Henderson; one sister, Margaret Hunnell of San Jose, Calif.; one brother, Reece Knowlton of Cupertino, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Frank Larsen
Frank Larsen, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Denmark. A resident for seven years, he was a tool and die maker.
He is survived by one son, Jan Larsen; and one brother, Jorgen Larsen.

Johnny McDow Jr.
Johnny McDow Jr., 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1942, in Newellton, La. A resident for 35 years, he was a 21 dealer at the Aladdin.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two sons, Van McDow and Anthony McDow, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Darlene Rayford of New Orleans; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in New Light Baptist Church, 1165 Lawry Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
William Theodore Olson Jr.
William Theodore Olson Jr., 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 20, 1939, in Maryland. A resident for 10 years, he was a self-employed cabinetmaker.
He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Lorene-Wall of Phoenix, Denise Gubler of Las Vegas and Dianna Lynn Gandy of San Jose, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be noon Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Donald H. Paxton
Donald H. Paxton, 67, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Orange, Calif. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired plumber and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; one daughter, Vicki Paxton of Orange, Calif.; one son, Don Paxton of San Diego; and one grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Lutheran Church, 1401 Fifth St., Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Cesar Enrique Rosales
Cesar Enrique Rosales, 14, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1985, in Mexico. A resident for one year, he was a student at Jim Bridger Junior High School.
He is survived by his parents, Evelia and Antonio, and three sisters, Margarita, Evelia and Erika, all of Mexico; and three brothers, Marcos of California and Octaviano and Omar, both of Mexico.
Visitation is scheduled noon-5 p.m. Wednesday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Mexico.
Betty C. Stringham Smith
Betty C. Stringham Smith, 69, of Henderson died Friday in Orlando, Fla. She was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Cedar City, Utah. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Siddie Solberg of Cody, Wyo., Beverly Smith and Sherry Gold, both of Henderson, and Dorthy Beebe of Orlando; two sons, Cody Smith of Henderson and Samuel Smith of Las Vegas; two sisters, Beverly Valdez of Casper, Wyo., and Cora Verhulst of Spearfish, S.D.; two brothers, George Stringham of Casper and Glen Stringham of Cody; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Willie L. Stringer, 55, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born July 6, 1944, in Rich, Miss. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired porter.
He is survived by six daughters, Stephanie Stringer of Las Vegas and Michelle Foster, Kimberly Stringer, Deneka Buck, Karen Ferguson and Sharina Ferguson, all of Chicago; three sons, Willie Stringer Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Willie Ferguson and Lonzie Buck, both of Chicago; two sisters, Ada Brackson of Kansas City and Rosie Austin of Las Vegas; five brothers, Clarence Stringer of Las Vegas and Manuel Stringer, Henry Hood, George Austin and James Cotton, all of Kansas City; and three grandchildren.

Art Udovich
Art Udovich, 55, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1944, in Lorain, Ohio. A resident for nine months, he was a retired line operator for an automobile manufacturer and a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Arthur M. Udovich of Kuwait; two daughters, Denise Udovich of Davison, Mich., and Diane Udovich of Burton, Mich.; one sister, Beverly Bass of Lorain; and one brother, Terrance Udovich of Amherst, Ohio.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
