The museum's electric wiring, windows and carpet were replaced during the eight-month project.
The building houses a courtroom, jail and numerous other exhibits in what local residents claim is Nevada's oldest town.
The original courthouse was gutted by a fire that destroyed much of Genoa in 1910. It was rebuilt by the end of the year, but closed as a courthouse in 1915 when the Douglas County seat was moved to Minden.
The building served as Genoa's school from 1916 to 1956. It's been a museum since 1969, operated by the Carson Valley Historical Society.
