Boys are prime candidates for camp

One mother is hoping that her 9-year-old son will have a chance to escape the city and apartment lifestyle for a week. Spending time away in an outdoor environment could help him gain self-reliance, she said.
Another guardian would like to see a 6-year-old boy who loves the outdoors go to camp. The boy had some problems at school, but is better and "deserves to go to camp," the guardian says.
Contributions to the Las Vegas Sun's Camp Fund pay for scholarships for Southern Nevada children who otherwise could not afford it to go to camp. It gives them an opportunity to make new friends and participate in many activities.
