CARSON CITY -- The Nevada Supreme Court Thursday dismissed the appeal of Darwin Robinson, sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murder in the 1993 death of his 4-month-old son in Las Vegas.
The court rejected arguments by Robinson that his attorney at trial was ineffective and that his conviction should be reversed. Robinson claimed the attorney failed to object to certain evidence and improper remarks by the prosecutor and that the defense lawyer conceded defeat in his final arguments to the jury.
The court said Robinson failed to show the outcome of the case would have been different, had his lawyer raised these objections at trial.
The son, Kyle Robinson, suffered numerous head injuries and fractured ribs.
Robinson claimed the child was injured when he fell off a bed at Robinson's mobile home in November 1993.
