Letter: Handicapped deserve better
Thursday, June 8, 2000 | 12:12 p.m.
There should be more accessibility and more safety for the handicapped citizens in Clark County.
Some of the handicapped are being hurt and injured due to too-steep stairs or inability to grasp a handrail. Some of the ramps for wheelchairs are not constructed properly. Bathrooms are not always large enough for the handicapped.
More consideration for these people should be shown. They should have their rights, too.
They have every right to go out and mingle among the public in a safe environment and better accessibility. Handicapped people deserve more respect.
