General counsel leaves for rival gaming company
Thursday, June 8, 2000 | 10:57 a.m.
Alliance Gaming Corp. today announced the resignation of Dave Johnson, the company's senior vice president, secretary and general counsel. Johnson, who had been with the company five years, was today named general counsel of Anchor Gaming Inc.
Johnson was replaced as secretary of Alliance by Robert Saxton, the company's chief financial officer; a replacement has yet to be named for Johnson's other positions.
Johnson is the second top Alliance executive to depart this year. In March, the company announced the resignation of CFO Scott Schweinfurth, who later became CFO of Chicago slotmaker WMS Industries Inc.
Separately, Alliance announced the appointment of Axel Pawlas as managing director of Bally Wulff, its German wall machine and amusement machine subsidiary. Pawlas was managing director of Bally Gaming International, a Bally Wulff subsidiary.
Alliance has been searching for a permanent head of its struggling German operations since the ouster of Bally Wulff's former managing director late last year.
Alliance and Anchor both manufacture slot machines and have slot route operations.
