$250 million condo project set south of Turnberry Place

The Florida-based developer of luxury condominium project Turnberry Place in Las Vegas is moving forward with plans to build two 30-story condominium towers at a nearby site.
John Riordan, vice president of sales for Turnberry Associates, said the company plans to build Madison Towers at a 10-acre site at Paradise and Karen roads, several hundred yards south of Turnberry Place. The 600 condominiums in Madison Towers will be smaller than those of Turnberry, with prices ranging from $165,000 to $400,000.
"We feel like there are a lot of people that like this part of town, and like the luxury high-rise lifestyle, but maybe don't need as much square footage as Turnberry Place offers, or are more comfortable with the lower prices," Riordan said.
Madison Towers is still in the final stages of design, but construction should begin next spring, with opening of the first tower in summer 2002. Though a final pricetag has not been set, Riordan said the company expects sales to reach $250 million for the project.
