Parks advisory board to hold public meeting
The North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation advisory board will hold two special meetings to allow citizen input on the city's new recreation center to be built at Alexander Road and Allen Lane.
The first meeting will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Swainston Middle School, 3500 W. Gilmore St.
The second meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Mojave High School, 5302 Goldfield St.
Silver Advantage to host lecture
University Medical Center's Silver Advantage program will hold a lecture on foot care at 7 p.m. Monday at the Desert Willow Community Center, 2025 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway.
Anthony Ricciardi will discuss the importance of proper foot care especially for adults over 50. An emphasis will be placed on diabetic foot concerns as well as gait analysis, bunions and fungal infections.

Volunteer needed to help client
The Las Vegas Blind Center is looking for a volunteer to put a computer manual on tape for a blind client.

Osteoporosis screening
Free screening for osteoporosis will be held 1-3 p.m. Monday at Valley Hospital Medical Center, 620 Shadow Lane. Call 388-4665.
Eagle Scouts
Eagle Scout promotions have been awarded to the following by the Boulder Dam Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America: Casey J. Allen, 15, Ryan Bundy, 20, and Reed J. Asay, 18, all of Las Vegas; and Toby Bossard, 18, Alex Mayfield, 14, and Michael E. Pierce, 17, all of Henderson.
Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 15 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open Wednesday through June 13.

EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
BOULDER CITY CLINIC: Multi-Purpose Building, 1204 Sixth Street, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m., Wednesday.
A.D. GUY CLINIC: Boys & Girls Club, 817 N St., 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
SOUTHEAST CLINIC: 130 N. Pecos (St. Thomas More Catholic Community -- Parish Hall), 9 a.m.-noon, Thursday.
DESERT BREEZE CLINIC: 8275 Spring Mountain Road, noon-4 p.m. Friday.
BABIES 'R' US: 510 Stephanie, Henderson, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 S. Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
