Tollberg shows his stuff in Stars’ win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Brian Tollberg is one of the few starters on the Stars' pitching staff who hasn't been called up by the San Diego Padres this season.
But if the 27-year- old right-hander continues to pitch as well as he did in the Stars' 7-2 win over the Nashville Sounds on Sunday afternoon at Greer Stadium, it would seem only a matter of time before Tollberg is packing his bags for San Diego, too.
Tollberg allowed just five hits and two runs over eight innings, improving his record to 4-0. He struck out seven and walked one as Las Vegas (33-21) won for the 11th time in its last 15 games.
Tollberg's strikeout to walk ratio is now an outstanding 46 to 7.
The Stars trailed 2-1 entering the seventh when Las Vegas broke loose for six runs against Nashville reliever Luis Andujar, who began the season with the Stars.
Leftfielder Mike Darr highlighted the rally with a two-run double. Dusty Allen added an RBI triple and John Roskos chipped in with a two-run single.
The Stars bus to Memphis today and open a four-game series against the Redbirds tonight.
