Mother sentenced for abuse of son
Thursday, June 1, 2000 | 11:58 a.m.
Andrea Kathleen Wolfe, 20, had originally been charged with two counts of child abuse causing substantial bodily harm. But those counts were consolidated into one in exchange for her pleading guilty.
Damon Wolfe Jr., is now 3 and lives with relatives in Oregon.
The case stirred controversy when social workers failed to contact child services agencies in Oregon after the first incident involving the boy's broken arm was reported in December 1998.
Investigators said a report from that state showed concerns about Wolfe's handling of the baby.
