Jeff Bansbach cut a perfect light in the final round of Pro E.T. for his third victory this season as The Strip was host to one of the largest crowds of the E.T. bracket season and 200 mph Pro Mods Saturday night at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In the final round of eliminations, Bansbach lined up against July 15 Pro E.T. winner Randy Holly. After leaving the line on a perfect light, Bansbach went on to complete his pass with an E.T. of 10.420 at 122.69 mph for the victory.
"I've been working hard all season and trying to keep my ear open to the right people, especially Tim Arden," Bansbach said. "The perfect light was wonderful. It was great racing in front of a big crowd and seeing everyone get excited when we gave (free) shirts."
In Pro Mod competition, Las Vegas resident Richard Cross put on a great show for his hometown fans as he qualified No. 1 and battled to the final round of eliminations. In the final round, Cross paired off against Pro Mod points leader Danny Rowe. Cross left the starting line first, but his 6.701 E.T. at 212.16 was not enough to beat the 6.613 E.T. at 210.01 mph of Rowe.
