Marc Weiswasser, the executive director of the Casino Management Association, will step down Aug. 1 to join the Navegante Group, a Las Vegas company headed by long-time casino executive Larry Woolf.
Weiswasser, who became head of the CMA in 1996, will be replaced by Tony Lewin, currently the promotions director of Casino Journal Publishing Group. Weiswasser will remain on the CMA's board of directors.
As director of Navegante Search, Weiswasser will head the company's executive recruiting efforts. Woolf formed Navegante, a casino management and consulting services company, in 1995 after stepping down as chairman and chief executive of MGM Grand Inc.
"He's got such a great reputation in the industry that I thought it would be a great opportunity," Weiswasser said.
The CMA is a non-profit organization devoted to education and training for the casino industry.
