John R. Barkley
John R. Barkley, 64, of Mesa, Ariz., died July 15 in a Mesa hospice. He was born July 29, 1935, in Jasper, Ind. A former Las Vegas resident for 40 years, he was a retired printer who worked for the Las Vegas Sun, the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Bonanza Printers.
He is survived by his friend and companion, Carol Pierce of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and two sisters, Mary Anne Porter of Las Vegas and Kathryn Wall of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.
Arrangements were handled in Arizona.
The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
William E. Eddards
William E. Eddards, 45, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 26, 1954, in Caliente. A lifetime resident of Nevada, he was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Sue; two daughters, Rachel Eddards and Billie Joe Eddards, and two sons, Joseph Eddards and Nick Eddards, all of North Las Vegas; his mother, Anita Lee, and his father, David Eddards, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Kevin Lee of Reno; and one sister, Tammy Morley of Alamo.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today with a 5 p.m. service in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Frederick D. Foger
Frederick D. Foger, 38, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A lifelong resident, he was born Jan. 28, 1962, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by three children, Cherrish Foger of Georgia and Zephron Foger and Myowon Foger, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Eugene Foger Jr., Charles Foger and Wilford Foger, and one sister, Estelle Akison, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Commission Interdenominational Church, 3329 Coleman St., North Las Vegas. Burial will be private. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Eliseo Gutierrez Sr.
Eliseo Gutierrez Sr., 62, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A resident for 12 years, he was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Maria T.; four sons, Jose Gutierrez, Robert Gutierrez, Eliseo Gutierrez Jr., and Luis E. Gutierrez, and one daughter, Silvia M. Robertson, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Heliodoro Gutierrez; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Frank Edgar Harrington
Frank Edgar Harrington, 85, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 26, 1914, in New York. A resident for more than five years, he was a machinist in the paper industry.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in New York. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Kenneth Lee Herrington
Kenneth Lee Herrington, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired battalion chief for the City of Las Vegas Fire Department and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Sandra Day of West Jordan, Utah; one son, Jeffrey Cuddy of Las Vegas; two sisters, Beverly Honing of Montana and Vivian Carver of Utah; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.
Edward W. Loper
Edward W. Loper, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired buyer for the Clark County School District, a retired Air Force master sergeant and a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; three daughters, Jeanne White and Marsha Toms, both of Las Vegas and Janet Blake of Cedar City, Utah; one son, Richard Loper of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 220 N. 14 St. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Roy Marion
Roy Marion, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. A resident for 37 years, he was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Leskovic, Yugoslavia.
He is survived by one daughter, Victoria Marion of North Las Vegas.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Doris Lillian Smith
Doris Lillian Smith, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Los Angeles. A resident for 14 years, she was an assembly line worker in the field of electronics.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Curtis, and one son, Dewan L. Curtis, both of Nevada.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Leo D. Speigler
Leo D. Speigler, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 19, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for eight years, he was a retired deputy sheriff, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Shomrin Scottish Rite and the Shriners.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; one son, Lawrence L. Spiegler of Morton Grove, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Iris Rachlin of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; one stepson, Ronald D. Sherman of Highland Park, Ill.; two sisters, Frances Leviton of Los Alamitos, Calif., and Renee Dorfman of Seal Beach, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Illinois. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
