Letter: Doherty left Irish in lurch

I want to thank Dean Juipe for an excellent article on the Matt Doherty decision at North Carolina. Most people will agree with him except the UNC fans and the North Carolina press (most all of them are UNC fans).

I do not think people would have had as big a problem with Matt leaving Notre Dame, had he been there for more than one year and had he not just convinced his star lottery pick (Troy Murphy) to stay in school, where both could have elevated the Notre Dame program back to where it once was.
