Dog wins clemency in goat murder case
Friday, July 21, 2000 | 1:34 a.m.
The goat owners who witnessed the Saturday morning attacks verified that the dog, a Labrador-Rottweiler mix named Bruin, was not the animal in question.
Bruin had been seen with the Queensland heeler who was put down earlier this week for its part in the attacks. Bruin fit the description given by witnesses of the black dog that helped the Queensland in the attack.
Bruin's owner, Cindy Steele, said her dog was asleep in her bedroom at the time of the attacks.
While Bruin has been ruled out as a suspect, the black dog responsible for the attacks has not been identified. Animal Control officers will continue increased patrols in the subdivision in search of the dog and are warning goat owners to keep their pens secure.
