Vegas airline traffic up 13.6 percent in June

Las Vegas airlines served 3.1 million passengers in June, up a healthy 13.6 percent from June 1999 as visitors were drawn to the gaming capital by new megaresorts.
McCarran International Airport reported Wednesday that Southwest Airlines led the increase in June, serving 887,671 passengers for an increase of 11.2 percent.
America West was up 3.5 percent to 509,180 passengers and Delta Air Lines was up 3.8 percent to 251,475 passengers. United declined 1.6 percent to 273,064 and American fell 10.9 percent to 210,697 passengers.
Year to date traffic is up 10.2 percent, McCarran said.
