Letter: Locals leaving Rio in droves
Thursday, July 20, 2000 | 9:12 a.m.
What they ignored was that we locals get visitors from out of town. We locals could pass the word that the Rio does not care about the locals. They cut out our shuttles that used to pick up seniors and others in complexes.
Well, now the Rio doesn't matter to lots of locals, either. We tell our visitors we no longer care to enter that hotel. (The lines for the buffet are endless. The best buffet is at the Orleans anyway and lines move!)
What the Rio did regarding Danny Gans only proved greed!
So Rio owners (Harrah's Entertainment Inc.), you decide if and how you want our locals back at the Rio. Your decision.
For now, I will not attend anything or play at the Rio and I know many living here (you know ... the locals) will not attend or play there, either.
The Sun may have told us high-rollers are leaving the Rio ... well ... the locals already left!
