Retail test set for Vegas
Tuesday, July 18, 2000 | 11:23 a.m.
Good Guys Inc., an operator of consumer electronics stores, said Tower Records plans to sell music and entertainment software at two Good Guys stores in Las Vegas on a test basis.
Tower, the world's largest independent music and entertainment retailer, will license about 3,000 square feet of space in each of two Good Guys stores.
They will test a strategy that could include the licensing of as much as 200,000 square feet of space within Good Guys stores in California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon by Tower or a combination of retailers.
The Tower 2 stores will occupy space previously devoted to personal electronics, computers and home office products -- businesses that Good Guys exited in September.
Good Guys said the Tower 2 stores will highlight digital formats like DVD-Video and DVD-Audio.
