Mural lost without Harolds

Now, the gigantic depiction of the Old West has become just a great pain. Nobody wants it.
The mural, which honors early pioneers, is definitely not a mantelpiece.
It's 30 feet by 80 feet. It was assembled, in 180 pieces, on the Harolds Club facade in 1950. It was removed, piece by piece, in September, three months before the once famous but long-vacant downtown casino was imploded.
Neal Cobb, the president of the Harolds Club Pioneers, said it's strictly a Reno treasure and shouldn't go anywhere else.
But where it's going to go in Reno remains an unanswered question.
The Historical Resources Commission requested proposals for the mural in March. No one responded.
On Tuesday, Reno City Council asked the commission for more guidance. Commissioners will meet Aug. 10 to evaluate the situation.
