Southwest Gas Corp. of Las Vegas said the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada approved an agreement that will cut Southwest's $22.9 million rate increase request by $3.1 million.
Southwest filed the request June 1 to recover natural gas fuel costs it had incurred.
The agreement cuts the gas-price adjustment by $2.1 million in Southern Nevada and $1 million in Northern Nevada.
Southwest and the commission agreed to dismiss all pending litigation over the issue and the pact allows more customers to buy natural gas from sources other than Southwest.
