Metro Police continued today to search for two armed men who robbed the main cashiers cage of the Treasure Island and assaulted two of the resort's workers.
About 9:30 p.m. Wednesday the two men jumped over the cage counter and pistol-whipped an employee before running out of the hotel's Las Vegas Boulevard exit and into the crowds waiting to view the resort's pirate battle, Lt. Gary Schofield said.
"From all the witness accounts that we've heard, they were in and out very quickly," Schofield said. "We're still following up on leads."
A cashier was pistol-whipped by one of the robbers, and a security guard was struck as the robbers made their escape from the casino, Lt. John Alamshaw of Metro's robbery unit said.
The cashier was treated at University Medical Center and later released. The security guard was also treated for his injury.
Police searched the area around Treasure Island and along Las Vegas Boulevard but didn't find the two men, Schofield said.
After leaving the casino, the robbers ran across the street into an alley, Alamshaw said.
