Letter: Nevada standards tough for jobs
Wednesday, July 12, 2000 | 9:39 a.m.
My 25-year-old niece just got a masters degree in social work, and is spending the summer in Vegas (to help out a friend). She has had to get shots, med certificate, and be insulted by one interviewer who advised her to seek breast implant surgery. Another one suggested she take a weight reduction exercise course.
Now she needs her birth certificate to prove how old she is! All this just to be able to get a low-paying job as a waitress?
She had to show a birth certificate to get her New York state driver's license! D-u-h-h-h-h-h !
Whatta ya need to start a business? A letter from your mother?
