FRESNO -- It took 16 runs and a season-high 21 hits, but the Stars finally found a way to end their five-game losing streak.
Joe Vitiello hit two home runs, including a two-run shot in the ninth inning that proved to be the game-winner, as the Stars (47-38) overcame an early 6-0 deficit to pull out a 16-14 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies (32-56) on Thursday night at Beiden Field.
The 16 runs tied a season high for the Stars.
The Stars, who trail Sacramento by one game in the Pacific Coast League's South Division, return home to Cashman Field to open a three-game series with the Calgary Cannons tonight at 7:05.
