Letter: Tyson view is right on

Dean Juipe's column on Mike Tyson ("Fines, bans don't faze Mike Tyson," June 30) was fantastic and right on target. Tyson is still obsessed with a teenager's fantasy -- to be the toughest guy in the club. I'm only afraid that this behavior will find him taking unnecessary dangers outside of the ring as well -- where people are less forgiving and with people who know how to reciprocate with the proper measure of violence.
He is still a good fighter -- most still forget that in the mess he creates around himself. In his present rage, he could defeat Lewis, Golota and even a Holyfield. Most punchers mellow as they age but Tyson really is cut from the Dempsey and Liston cloth. He'll go home when he is no longer the tough guy at the nightclub.
As a fellow Muslim, I just hope that he is not taken out on a stretcher one night at the Cheetahs Club with a few bullet wounds through his throat.
