Rose Arrechea

Rose Arrechea, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Pineland, Texas. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Richard Arrechea of Las Vegas; one daughter, Janice A. Novak of Chatsworth, Calif.; one brother, John Sabo of San Marcos, Calif.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in California. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Susanne Baker

Susanne Baker, 60, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Boston. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Philip; one son, Dale Wilson of Anaheim, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. and visitation 2-7 p.m. Friday at the family home, 575 Avenue K, Boulder City. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in the Boulder City Fifth Street LDS Chapel. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Boulder City Cemetery Pavillion. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Elias Busuego

Elias Busuego, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Dec. 16, 1924, in the Philippines. A resident for six years, he was a mechanical engineer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Digna; five sons, Ferdinand Busuego of Chicago, Elias Busuego III of Ontario, Calif., and James Busuego, Gemini Busuego and Eleazer Busuego, all of Las Vegas; five daughters, Teresita Busuego of the Philippines, Elizabeth Busuego of North Carolina, Jennifer Busuego of Van Nuys, Calif., Annabelle Busuego of California and Mildred Busuego of Chicago; three sisters, Cleo Busuego and Mercedes Busuego, both of the Philippines, and Purita Busuego-Rosenburg of Las Vegas; and 18 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. services Thursday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

The family suggests donations to United Way, 1660 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Ted Cochran

Ted Cochran, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 14, 1915, in South Bend, Ind. A resident for 38 years, he was a truck driver at the Nevada Test Site, a member of the Masons and Teamsters Local 631.

He is survived by one son, Robert Cochran of Las Vegas; one daughter, Carol Welliver of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Sharon L. Galik

Sharon L. Galik, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Oregon. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Julie Ivy, one brother, Steve Allen, and one sister, Gail Lee, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

M. Jean George

M. Jean George, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 7, 1926, in Grand Forks, N.D. A resident for four years, she was a benefits analyst in the aerospace industry.

She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Sturgon of Las Vegas, J. Rene Gesseck of Anaheim, Calif., and JoAnn Pettit of Santa Rosa, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Doris Marie Harris

Doris Marie Harris, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 20, 1926, in San Bernardino, Calif. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired government secretary, a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Lopez of Las Vegas; one sister, Margaret Caldwell of Claremont, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Arthur S. Hirshfield

Arthur S. Hirshfield, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 9, 1923, in New York. A resident for two years, he was a professor at Bronx Community College of the City University of New York, a certified public accountant and chairman of the college's business department.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; one son, Paul Hirshfield of Israel; two stepdaughters, Risa Marshall of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Taylor Kingsley-Goddard of Berkeley, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Seiji Cuc 'Chuck' Kato

Seiji Cuc "Chuck" Kato, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 21, 1925, in Pasadena, Calif. A resident for four years, he was a retired manager of an automotive dealership and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Chiyo; one daughter, Christine Kato of Los Angeles; one son, Lyle Kato of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Dorothy Uchiyama of Chicago and Yoshie Kato of Fresno, Calif.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

John M. Marshall

John M. Marshall, 44, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born July 2, 1956, in Victoria, Texas. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a janitorial service and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Wally Marshall of Italy, Texas; and one sister, Melissa Marshall of Anchorage, Alaska.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Rose M. Mastro

Rose M. Mastro, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 22, 1923, in Chicago. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Nick; one son, Anthony Mastro of Chicago; one daughter, Tomasina Willis, one brother, Anthony Gatto, and one sister, Frances DePasquale, all of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Mary Nordin

Mary Nordin, 89, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 9, 1911, in James City, Pa. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Fred W.; three sons, Fred R. Nordin of Henderson, Richard Nordin of Lockport, N.Y., and William Nordin of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Frances Latcovic and Rose Gorczyca, both of Youngstown, Ohio; two brothers, Louis Wallace of Youngstown and John Wallace of Cooperstown, Pa.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Lottie Schuntz

Lottie Schuntz, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 28, 1909, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired machine operator for a manufacturing firm.

She is survived by one daughter, Angeline F. Vranesh of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Josephine Shore

Josephine Shore, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 34 years, she was a retail saleswoman.

She is survived by one son, Michael Shore, one daughter, Rona Zimmerman, and one brother, Ernie Ross, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Ronnie Wills

Ronnie Wills, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 25, 1932, in Buhl, Idaho. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired slot mechanic and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his aunt, Billie Dietderich of Las Vegas.

Bettye V. Wilson

Bettye V. Wilson, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born March 30, 1937, in Monticello, Ark. A resident for 40 years, she was a secretary in the gaming industry.

She is survived by her husband, Don; two daughters, Sherri Wilson and Cristy Wilson, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Dorothy Stephenson of Monticello; and one brother, James Veasey of Fayetteville, Ark.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
