Letter: Rush’s vicious nature displayed in many ways
Wednesday, July 5, 2000 | 9:54 a.m.
Three hours a day, five days a week he spews slurs and innuendos against the following:
1) The president of the United States and the first lady.
2) All Democrats and liberals.
3) The "WACKO" (his term) environmentalists. These are the people who try to save the giant sequoias and effect cleaner air and water.
4) The global warming nuts (like Al Gore) who want to look carefully into this problem so great disasters can be avoided.
5) The gun control advocates who want to make a safer nation with fewer Uzis and handguns.
7) Even animals! I give you two Rush quotes: "The reason gorillas are endangered is they are too dumb to care for themselves" and "Animals can't think." Also there was that horrible parody he ran so often called "Born Free." To the music of "Born Free" it featured a machine-gun killing of Elsa the Lioness.
8) Another frequent target of his wrath are the "women's right to choose" advocates who favor birth control and Roe vs. Wade and don't want "Big Government" running their private lives.
Mr. Tafolla, if you can prove any of the above points are untrue please advise. No, I can't prove he hates anybody. In "Mein Kamph" Hitler never said he hated Jews -- but he murdered millions. And maybe malicious was a little strong so I have another: "vicious."
A phrase Rush uses daily is "El Rushbo, with talent on loan from God" (a big emphasis on God). If he would use this "divine" talent to help instead of hinder, to praise instead of malign, we would all have a better world.
