Two pedestrians killed in weekend accidents in Reno

The first accident occurred Saturday night when Tiffany Paquin and Philip Rivera attempted to cross North Virginia Street near Panther Drive,
Police said they were crossing in a dark stretch of road and were not in a crosswalk when the they were struck by a car.
Paquin was killed. Rivera remained hospitalized at Washoe Medical Center.
A 59-year-old Reno man was killed Sunday night when he was struck by pickup on Kietzke Lane near Mill Street.
The name of that victim was not immediately released.
Authorities said alcohol doesn't appear to be a contributing factor in either accident.
