Casino investor dies

DETROIT -- Martha Jean Steinberg, a prominent Detroit personality and minority owner in MGM Grand Inc.'s Detroit casino, died Saturday of an undisclosed illness. She was 69.
Steinberg was president and co-owner of Detroit radio station WGBH-AM. She was best known in the city as a well-known radio personality since her arrival in 1963.
Steinberg, known in Detroit as "The Queen," was one of seven Detroit investors who held a minority stake in MGM Grand Detroit.
"She was a tireless worker with a strong intellect and vibrant personality who believed in the rebirth of Detroit and who was determined to assure that Detroiters would realize the benefits of that rebirth," said John Redmond, co-CEO of the MGM Detroit.
