James H. Christian

James H. Christian, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept 24, 1915, in Illinois. A resident for 23 years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Verbetta; one son, Gail Christian of Las Vegas; two daughters, Sandra Christian of Las Vegas and Sharon Peterson of Illinois; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Odyssey Harbor House, 4011 McLeod Drive. A private burial will follow. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

James Ciccone

James Ciccone, 69, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for two years, he was a retired steel broker and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Millie; two daughters, Carla Ciccone of Henderson and Caryn Gilsoul of Green Bay, Wis.; his mother, Mary Cicone of Brooklyn; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

William Crandall

William Crandall, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Monrovia, Calif. A resident for seven years, he was a retired airline captain, a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran, a member of the Retired United Pilots Association, Tail Hook Association and Airline Pilots Association.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia L.; one son, Stig Crandall of Tucson, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Linda Hencin of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Debra Golla of Belvidere, Ill.; two sisters, Leola Braithwaite of Tustin, Calif., and Cynthia Wechler of San Francisco; five step-grandsons and one step great-granddaughter.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Charles Ray Flanagan

Charles Ray Flanagan, 38, of Henderson died Jan. 17 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 10, 1961, in Mississippi. A resident for 37 years, he was a hotel kitchen worker.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Lortha Flanagan of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Roy Flanagan of North Las Vegas and Curtis Flanagan of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Charlene Johnson and Sarah Flanagan, both of Las Vegas, and Alice Flanagan of North Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens.

Bruce C. Gray

Bruce C. Gray, 61, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Belmont Heights, Fla. A resident for eight years, he was a maintenance mechanic and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn E.; one daughter, Debra L. Lund of Henderson; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Stacy Marie Gupton

Stacy Marie Gupton, 17, of North Las Vegas died Monday. She was born April 21, 1982, in Baltimore. A resident for 10 years, she was a senior at Las Vegas Academy of International Studies and Performing Arts and a member of the school band where she played the bassoon.

She is survived by her parents, Edith and Arthur "Ron" Gupton, and one sister, Sheri K. Gupton, all of North Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Robert and Les Collier of Yuba City, Calif., Rowena Stewart of Arnold, Md., and Art and Janice Woolsey of Corvallis, Ore.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

The family suggests donations to the National Association for the Mentally Ill.

Maria Guadalupe Gutierrez

Maria Guadolupe Gutierrez, 48, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A porter, she was born April 9, 1951, in Mexico.

She is survived by her husband, Pedro; four sons, Pedro Gutierrez Jr., Juan Francisco Gutierrez, Jorge Luis Gutierrez and Roy Manual Gutierrez, all of Las Vegas; five brothers, Leopoldo Garcia, Francisco Garcia, Fernando Garcia, Samuel Garcia and Luis Garcia, and one sister, Alicia Garcia, all of Mexico; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Mexico.

Valerie Ann Hardwick

Valerie Ann Hardwick, 34, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born March 18, 1996, in Michigan. A resident for several years, she was a secretary for Catholic Charities.

She is survived by her friend, Marge Higgins of Henderson.

Services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Victor M. Henderson

Victor M. Henderson, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 23, 1919, in Texas. A resident for four years, he was an electronics engineer for a manufacturing firm, an Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Norwalk, Conn.

He is survived by one sister, Floyce Capmany of Las Vegas.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Sarah Margaret Lambert

Sarah Margaret Lambert, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Kentucky. A resident for 40 years, she was a comptroller for a housing authority.

She is survived by one brother, John W. Flynn of East Point, Ga.

Troy Gene Latham

Troy Gene Latham, 34, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 28, 1965, in Colorado. A resident for seven years, he was an electronics technician and a veteran.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Renae Blount of Henderson; three brothers, Curtis Liggett and Robert Blount, both of Colorado, and Joe Blount of Arizona; and two sisters, Monica Wood of Henderson and Carrie Zorrilla of Arizona.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the LDS ward chapel at Arrowhead Trail and Grape Vine Avenue in Henderson. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Evelyn Marzoline

Evelyn Marzoline, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 2, 1913, in Andalusia, Ala. A resident for 46 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Ernest Marzoline of Riverside, Calif.; one daughter, Torry Marzoline of Las Vegas; one sister, Jeanette Merrill of San Leandro, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. services today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Norma Meersand

Norma Meersand, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 14, 1917, in St. Louis.

She is survived by one sister, Laurie Gilmore of Las Vegas.

Vurble V. Miller

Vurble V. Miller, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born April 8, 1918, in Arkansas.

She is survived by one son, John Fension of Hawthorne; one daughter, Shirley Morris of Las Vegas; one brother, Floyd Waire of Griffithville, Ark.; four sisters, Ethel White of Beaumont, Texas, Agnes Elliott of Judsonia, Ark., and Clara Legate and Vernice Nelson, both of North Little Rock, Ark.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Molly Nahmias

Molly Nahmias, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 18, 1921, in Indianapolis. A resident for 39 years, she retired as a JCPenney sales clerk after 18 years and was a member of Hadassah.

She is survived by one daughter, Roberta Mortensen of Las Vegas; five sisters, Sally Morris, Babs Zoll and Mary Campbell, both of Indianapolis, Ester Zuckerman of New Jersey and Celia Yosha of Florida; one brother, Albert Passo of Indianapolis; and one grandchild.

Services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ralph Pillanger

Ralph Pillanger, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born July 17, 1914, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired private trader of stocks and bonds, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by one aunt, Violet Dieckman of Las Vegas; and two cousins.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial is scheduled at 11 a.m. in Palm Memorial Park.

Edna M. Rhoades

Edna M. Rhoades, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local health care center. She was born June 24, 1917, in Ben Lomond, Ark. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Georgia Allen of Las Vegas, Paula Powell of Humble, Texas, and Judy Cross of El Sobrante, Calif.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Janet Urban

Janet Urban, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 12, 1947, in Santa Ana, Calif. A resident for seven years, she was a medical receptionist.

She is survived by two sons, Gregory Urban of Las Vegas and Erik Urban of Palatine, Ill.; one daughter, Renee Dilloo of Las Vegas; one brother, Wayne Book of Thornton, Ill.; two sisters, Janice Uecker of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Beverly Roedelbroon of Tucson, Ariz.; and one grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Mae R. Williams

Mae R. Williams, 82, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 30, 1917, in Manti, Utah. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Palo Verde Garden Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Hazel Haigh of Las Vegas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the LDS Desert Rose Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Melva D. Zellers

Melva D. Zellers, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Overton, Texas. A resident for 50 years, she was a secretary for a photographer.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; three daughters, Deborah Larson of Salt Lake City and Kathryn Back and Brenda Zellers, both of Las Vegas; one son, William Mitchell of Las Vegas; one brother, Lloyd Swenney of New York state; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
