LV convention company promotes execs

Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000 | 11:38 a.m.

Two executives have been promoted in an expanding Las Vegas-based convention production company.

Paul Mullen was named chairman and Paul Dykstra, president and chief executive officer, of GES Exposition Services, a division of Viad Corp.

Mullen formerly held the titles of president and CEO. Because the company is expanding its focus on large clients and business development, the position of chairman was created for Mullen. Dykstra will take over the day-to-day operation of the company as president and CEO, a spokesman said.

GES provides exhibition and event services in 36 North American cities. Viad, based in Phoenix, provides payment services, airline catering, travel and recreation services as well as convention and event operations.

Viad Chairman Robert Bohannon said the new senior management structure, along with recent regional office restructuring, will allow more personalized attention to be focused on clients.
