President Estrada supports check on Ho

Ho, who plans to expand his Philippine investments further, has been strongly criticized by Philippine lawmakers and church leaders because of his gambling operations and allegations of ties to Chinese triad gangs. Ho has strongly denied the charges.
National Police chief Panfilo Lacson said he is trying to verify the allegations from international sources.
Estrada said "there is nothing wrong with checking a man's background."
Ho has invested an estimated dlrs 30 million in Philippine gambling concern BW Resources Corp., the object of several probes into alleged stock manipulation.
