Mapes supporter stands alone

Nanna Rassu asked council members to reconsider the hotel's fate. It is scheduled to be imploded on Sunday.
About 40 people called City Hall on Tuesday, asking the city to spare the 52-year-old building.
The phone campaign was spurred when the National Trust for Historic Preservation urged people to flood the city with calls against the demolition.
The trust took out a full-page ad in Wednesday's Reno Gazette-Journal opposing the city's decision to tear the Mapes down.
