UNLV's Southern Nevada Index of Leading Economic Indicators declined .71 percent to 124.12 in December as seven of its 10 components posted declines.
The forecast is for the performance of the local economy in April based on data from October. Commercial and residential building activity, taxable sales, gaming revenue and convention attendance all posted declines.
McCarran Airport traffic, visitor volume and gasoline sales posted increases.
UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research said that despite the decline, continued growth is forecast in the first half of 2000.
