The intruder fled from the apartment but was apparently stabbed twice. The resident chased after the suspect, but apartment security caught up with both men and held them until Metro officers arrived, police said.
The intruder, who was charged with burglary, battery and battery with a deadly weapon, was taken to University Medical Center, but died this morning about 4:30. His name was not released this morning pending the notification of his family.
The case will be submitted to the Clark County district attorney's office for review, police said.
