Metro Police believe that a worker at the Forum Shops at Caesars was accidentally shot by a co-worker Thursday evening.
At about 5:45 p.m. two workers were in a maintenance area of the mall near a service road that runs along the north side of the Caesars Palace property adjacent to the Mirage.
"One of the workers was doing something with his gun, perhaps unloading it when we believe it accidentally went off hitting the other worker in the face," Lt. Gary Schofield said. "They were in a cooling plant, tool shop area, and we don't know if they were on a break."
The victim was taken to University Medical Center. It appeared the bullet went through his lower jaw, Schofield said.
The other worker was taken into custody and was questioned but hasn't been charged with a crime.
The two men are believed to be maintenance workers.
