John Lipkowitz resigned as president of the Rio hotel-casino, parent company Harrah's Entertainment Inc. announced Thursday.
Lipkowitz resigned "to pursue other business opportunities," the company said.
Harrah's named Jay Sevigny, president of its new casino in New Orleans, as the new president of the Rio. Sevigny will also remain president of the New Orleans property.
To assist Sevigny, Harrah's named Pat Dennehy, general manager of Harrah's Lake Tahoe, as the general manager of Harrah's New Orleans.
Harrah's acquired the Rio last year.
