CINCINNATI -- The Las Vegas Silver Bandits (13-10) overcame a 19-point third-quarter deficit to defeat the Cincinnati Stuff (16-4) 136-133 in double-overtime Wednesday night at First Star Center in Cincinnati.
The win was the IBL-best 10th in a row for Las Vegas while the Stuff suffered its first loss at home this season. Las Vegas became the first team to beat Cincinnati twice this season.
Cincinnati's Tremaine Fowlkes was the game's high scorer, finishing with 38 points and 13 rebounds. For the Silver Bandits, Harold Ellis led the way with 32 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. Ellis put back a blocked Marcus Liberty (18 points, 7 rebounds) shot with one second left in regulation to tie the game at 114 and send it to overtime.
Isaac Burton finished with 31 points and 8 assists, while Rocky Walls poured in 23 points and pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds. Burton set a new IBL season high from the free-throw line, hitting 17-of-18. It was the league-leading 13th double-double for Walls.
"I have played with some good teams before," said player/coach Mark Wade. "I have never played with a team with as much heart and character. We told Cincinnati we were going to win when we were down by 19." Wade logged a season-high 27 minutes.
The Silver Bandits will play in St. Louis tonight and Saturday before returning home to the Thomas & Mack Center to play the Swarm on Sunday night. Tickets are on sale at the Thomas & Mack Center box office or by logging on to www.tickets.com.
Las Vegas was playing without DeeAndre Hulett (toe injury) and saw limited action from leading scorer J.R. Henderson (sore knee).
