Letter: Pay attention to all candidates

I am an avid reader of the Las Vegas Sun and have been for years. I must admit, however, that I have been disturbed lately as I have followed your coverage of the presidential debates.
One would think that the list of presidential hopefuls was limited to just two candidates in each of the major parties. Virtually no coverage has been noted for Sen. Orrin Hatch's campaign, or to other candidates involved in the current series of television debates.
Yet, these candidates appear to have the freshest and most logical solutions to our current political and economic woes.
I noted a similar disregard to "also ran" candidates during the recent Las Vegas mayoral campaign, with notice given only to two high-profile (not best-suited) politicians, while other more worthy individuals went begging for someone to listen and report on their campaigns. The results of that election are self-evident!
I hope that you will take a closer look at some of the other candidates in this most important election. The American people have been deeply wounded, and the democratic process severely blackened, by the current crop of amoral politicians.
As the "voice-of-the-people" press, I hope you will take a look at some of the newer ideas coming from the recent presidential debates, such as Hatch's "new" approach to honesty in advertising in the political arena. Let's not make this election year another "same-old, same-old" or "who cares who I vote for, they are both the same" fiasco.
