The Las Vegas City Council has rejected a plan to build a new Costco superstore in a residential area.
The council voted 7-0 to block the project.
Councilman Michael McDonald said the project would kill the surrounding neighborhood.
Residents turned out in force at Wednesday's council meeting to object to the plan, complaining it would increase traffic in the neighborhood.
