Maria Luisa Alonzo
Maria Luisa Alonzo, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 21, 1935, in Havana. A resident for two years, she was a retail saleswoman and a seamstress at the Venetian hotel-casino.
She is survived by four daughters, Lourdes Williams and Elizabeth Young, both of Las Vegas, and Millie Gibson and Irene Alonzo, both of Henderson; two sons, Don Tomlin of Henderson and Mark Lee Alonzo of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Edith Fernandez of Hialeah, Fla., and Nancy Figeroa of Florida; and 11 grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Rebecca Louise Billings
Rebecca Louise Billings, 38, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born July 30, 1961, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for 12 years, she was a college theater technician, a member of the Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa at UNLV and was involved with the New West Theater, Rainbow Company Theater and the theater at the Community College of Southern Nevada.
She is survived by her husband, Damian A.; her parents, Jose and Norma Armendariz, and one sister, Belinda Reno, all of El Paso; two brothers, Joe Armendariz of Las Vegas and Charles Armendariz of Los Angeles; and her grandfather, Alfredo Armendariz of El Paso.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson is handling arrangements.

Zona W. Christensen
Zona W. Christensen, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Cardston, Alberta. A resident for 51 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Don; one daughter, Judy Anne Scott, and five sons, Wayne Christensen, Eugene Christensen, Carl Christensen, Eric Christensen and Marcus Christensen, all of Las Vegas; one sister, LaVerle Ferguson of Cardston; two brothers, Keith Walburger of Springfield, Ore., and Russell Walburger of Mountain View, Alberta; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Friday in the Lorenzi and Celeste LDS Chapel. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
Henrietta Compton
Henrietta Compton, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 3, 1913, in Round Timber, Texas. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired nursing home linen supervisor.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Wermter of Las Vegas; three sisters, Emma Adams, Martha Little and Vivian Fife, all of Fort Worth, Texas; and one grandchild.
Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Virginia Lorraine Ely
Virginia Lorraine Ely, 79, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Monroe City, Mo. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Spalding of Monroe City and Sandy Schwieter of Las Vegas; two sons, Chet Ely of Las Vegas and Ron Ely of Monroe City; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Emalee Eschardies
Emalee Eschardies, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 4, 1932. A resident for many years, she was a nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; seven sons, Paul L. Eschardies Jr., John M. Eschardies, Patrick L. Eschardies, Robert V. Eschardies and Joseph P. Eschardies, all of California, and Gene F. Eschardies and Owen T. Eschardies, both of Nevada; four daughters, Deborah Luna and Margaret Jacobson, both of California, Mary Eschardies of Nevada and Donna Eschardies of Wyoming; one brother, Michael Lane of California; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Wilfredo Fernandez
Wilfredo Fernandez, 85, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 27, 1914, in Havana. A resident for 30 years, he retired as a Showboat hotel porter after 20 years.
He is survived by one son, Wilfredo Fernandez Jr. of Las Vegas; three daughters, Xiomara Mateos of North Las Vegas and Candy Morelli and Lazara Glizman, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Lorraine Fernandez, and two brothers, Orlando Fernandez and Jorge Fernandez, all of Miami; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m until 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park.
Jose Gonzalez
Jose Gonzalez, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 7, 1919, in Havana. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired hotel butcher.
He is survived by his wife, Delia; and one daughter, Delia Gonzalez of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Harold Schrader Goodrich
Harold Schrader Goodrich, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 2, 1911, in St. Louis. A resident for seven years, he was a retired manufacturing engineering specialist and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Elizabeth; two daughters, Eileen Keesee of Las Vegas and Sandra Goodrich of Dana Point, Calif.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Valerie Ann Hardwick
Valerie Ann Hardwick, 34, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born March 18, 1965, in Michigan. A resident for several years, she was a secretary for Catholic Charities.
She is survived by her friend, Marge Higgins of Henderson.
Services were scheduled 2 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, followed by a private burial.
Eleanor F. Harrington
Eleanor F. Harrington, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Rumford, Maine. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired schoolteacher.
She is survived by her husband, John D.; two sons, Steven Lamb of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Thomas Lamb of Grand Ledge, Mich.; two daughters, Vicki Carnes of Bellevue, Idaho, and Annie McCall of Las Vegas; one brother, Al Peters of Revere, Mass.; one sister, Barbara Clarke of Rumford, Maine; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Desert Vista Community Center. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Richard A. Hejmanowski
Richard A. Hejmanowski, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three daughters, Deborah Kaczor, Barbara Knetsch and Wendy Hejmanowski, four sons, Mark Hejmanowski, Jeffrey Hejmanowski, Richard Hejmanowski and Russell Hejmanowski, and one sister, Christine Krakowiak, all of Buffalo; one brother, Fredrick Hejmanowski of Tucson, Ariz.; and 16 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Richard Hobbs
Richard Hobbs, 54, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born May 12, 1945, in Milford, Conn. A resident for two years, he was a truck driver and a Vietnam War Navy and Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; three sons, William Hobbs of Iola, Kan., Joseph Saltarello of Salem, Ore., and Mario Saltarello of Henderson; one daughter, Kimberly Bishop of Andover, Kan.; one brother, Ernest Hobbs of Columbus, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 8 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Kirk K. Kaku
Kirk K. Kaku, 40, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born April 9, 1959, in Honolulu. A resident for seven years, he was a state government engineering technician.
He is survived by his father, Shoji Kaku, and one brother, Stuart Kaku, both of Henderson; and his grandfather, Susumu Sato of Honolulu.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Seymour Klein
Seymour Klein, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired insurance broker, a World War II Air Force veteran, a member of the Jewish War Veterans, Bet Knesset Bamidbar of Sun City and the Excel Program at UNLV.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; one son, Robert Klein of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; two daughters, Joan Klein of Minneapolis and Mona Klein of Roselle Park, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
John P. 'Sonny' Layman
John P. "Sonny" Layman, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 1, 1916, in New York. A resident for two months, he was a plumber and truck driver.
He is survived by one son, John P. Layman Jr. of Las Vegas; four daughters, Barbara Paladino of Kings Park, N.Y., Joann Scanlon of Long Island City, N.Y., Patricia Landolfi of Cos Cob, Conn., and Janice Layman of the Bronx, N.Y.; one sister, Margaret Pistorino of the Bronx; two brothers, George Layman of North Carolina and Artie Layman of Florida; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 6 p.m. Friday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. A private burial will follow. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Glenn Lehman
Glenn Lehman, 74, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Idaho. A resident for 45 years, he was a local businessman, a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion in Pioche.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; two daughters, Vicky Crichton of Las Vegas and Valerie Thompson of Henderson; one son, Michael Lehman of Las Vegas; three brothers, Bill Lehman of Nevada, Dennis Florez of Texas and Joe Florez of California; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Patsy Licata, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 8, 1915, in New York. A resident for several years, she was a city government worker.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son, Frank Maio Jr., and one daughter, Kimberly Maio, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Peter Maio of New Jersey and Sylvester Maio of New York state; and one grandchild.

Margaret M. Maute, 73, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Fort Lee, N.J. A resident for 10 1/2 years, she was a retired rubber product shipping controller.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond.

James Robert Mullins, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 12, 1934, in Indiana. A resident for several months, he was a newspaper stacker for a publishing company.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Lafayette, Ind.; and one son, James L. Mullins of Los Angeles.

Robert Norman
Robert Norman, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Dec. 8, 1919, in Chicago. A resident for 27 years, he was a letter carrier for 15 years, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Culinary Local 226.
He is survived by his companion, Nora Norman; three daughters, Denise Norman and Ava Norman, both of California, and Donna Kohler of Las Vegas; one son, Keith Norman of Las Vegas; two brothers, John Norman of Chicago and Richard Norman of California; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Rose Romeo
Rose Romeo, 95, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 2, 1904, in Italy. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was a file clerk for a clothing manufacturer.
She is survived by one niece, Adele Volk, and one nephew, Joseph Volk, both of Henderson; and many other nieces and nephews.

Raymond M. Russell, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Whitehouse, Ohio. A resident for 18 years, he was an operator/engineer for a heavy equipment company.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie; five sons, Joseph Russell of Alaska, Don Lammie Jr. of Arizona, Dennis Lammie and Jeff Lammie, both of Ohio, and Greg Lammie of Michigan; two sisters, Sally Rutlidge and Donna Baldwin, both of Ohio; and nine grandchildren.

Al J. Shaw, 66, of Henderson died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Nov. 18, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a taxicab driver and a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three daughters; one son; two brothers; and eight grandchildren.

Ruth Arline Trude, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 22, 1927, in Kearney, Neb. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry B.; one son, Mark B. Trude, and one daughter, Laura D. Trude, both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
