A new women's club has come to town.
The General Federation of Women's Clubs of Nevada will hold its chartering ceremony of the GFWC Desert Community Woman's Club 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25, at the Green Valley Library, 2792 N. Green Valley Parkway, in Henderson.
The club is a member of the world's largest and oldest international organization of community-based volunteer women's clubs.
The group will be involved in a broad range of programs and projects tailored to meet the needs of the community, Carol White, charter president, said.
"Our club members are committed to individual growth and community improvements to enrich the quality of life in our state," White said.
The club is the seventh federated club in Nevada. Other clubs include the Mesquite Club of Las Vegas, the Junior Mesquite Club and the Boulder City Women's Club.
For more information, call Nannette White at 435-1735.
