Jail results from poorly chosen throw

Dario Martinez was arrested after the disturbance at a mobile home park on Dallas Street in Fernley Saturday night.
Deputy Kathy Harris suffered minor injuries to her face after approaching Martinez, who was holding a rock and trying to fight with another man, Chief Deputy Ken Barnes said.
After Martinez threw the rock at Harris, she tried to subdue him with pepper spray, which seemed to have no effect, Barnes said. A second deputy and several residents of the mobile home park helped take Martinez into custody.
Witnesses said Martinez had been throwing rocks at the windows of cars and trailers at the park before deputies arrived. They did not recognize him as a resident of the park.
He was treated at South Lyon Community Hospital for minor injuries before being booked into jail on charges of battery with a deadly weapon, assault and battery on a police officer and injury to property.
Harris was treated for her injuries at the scene.
