RENO -- A Colorado casino operator agreed to buy Reno's Gold Dust West casino for $26.5 million.
Black Hawk Gaming & Development Co. Inc. currently owns and operates the Gilpin Hotel Casino and the Lodge Casino, both in Black Hawk, Colo. Its agreement to buy the Gold Dust West is conditioned on the property's achieving at least $5.1 million in cash flow for the 12-month period prior to the closing of the deal.
The company said it intends to retain all of the property's employees.
The Gold Dust West, a 22-year-old property, is targeted primarily at Reno's locals market. It features a 17,500-square-foot casino, with 478 slot machines. It is located a few blocks west of Reno's downtown gaming district.
The property will be Black Hawk's first outside of Colorado.
