The teen, whose name wasn't released, was placed on an emergency suspension and could face explusion.
School officials said a teacher noticed the boy walking down the hall with the gun Friday afternoon. The teacher asked the boy for the gun, and it was turned over without incident.
"Apparently, the student felt he was being harrassed by other students and wanted to bring the gun to school to scare them," said deputy superintendent Jim Welsh.
"The student was not aggressive in any way to the teacher or any students."
