Through the help of the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association, six Las Vegas Valley children from the B.C. McCabe Boys & Girls Clubs have been learning to scuba dive.
The team has been meeting at the Las Vegas Municipal Pool for two weeks and will be demonstrating their skills Tuesday at the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association's annual trade show Tuesday through next Friday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
"They're having so much fun," Vicki Ruiz, diving instructor and co-owner of GR8 Divn, said. "They're getting an opportunity to do something they might not have the chance to do. And they're doing great."
The city donated the use of the pool, Parkway Scuba donated the masks, snorkels and fins, which the children will be able to keep, and Ruiz has been donating her time.
