Sale of souvenir bricks still on

This week, Washoe District Judge James Hardesty refused a request by preservationists to block demolition work on the 52-year-old hotel that has stood vacant for more than 17 years.
Officials on Wednesday said if all goes as planned, souvenir bricks from the Mapes will be available after demolition for $1 each.
