Lady Rebels battle BYU

The UNLV women's basketball team will open Mountain West Conference play tonight when the Lady Rebels play host to Brigham Young at 7:35 in the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Lady Rebels (8-5) bring a two-game winning streak into the contest and have won four of their past five contests.
UNLV is led by sophomore Linda Frohlich, who is averaging 22.9 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. Frohlich leads all MWC players in scoring, total rebounds and steals.
Sophomore guard Kinesha Davis is the only other UNLV player averaging in double figures in scoring, at 16.7 points per game.
BYU posted a 10-3 nonconference record but has not played a game since defeating Weber State in Ogden, Utah, on New Year's Eve. The Cougars are led by senior center Jill Adams, who is averaging 14.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
The Lady Rebels will conclude the two-game conference-opening homestand on Saturday night when they host Utah at 7:35 in the T&M.
